How to install a 64 bit version of Adobe Flash Payer 10 in Ubuntu 64, in 10 super easy steps
Adobe flash player is almost a necessity in todays computing. It is used for the majority of streaming video including You Tube. With out Adobe’s flash player you would be missing out on a wide range of multimedia experiences on-line.
There are open source alternatives such as Gnash. These alternatives usually do not work, and when they do work they only work half way.
Before 7/30/09 Ubuntu 64 bit users were required to use a 32bit version of Adobe flash on there 64bit systems. There were a issues with this because it required you to use a wrapper, or to put it in laymans terms. It required you to have a middle man between your system and Adobe Flash.
Here are the steps to install Adobe Flash player version 10,0,21,1 64 Bit
Step 1
Download this file
http://home.comcast.net/~ubuntume/Get64bitFlash-0.1.tar.gz


Step 2
Extract the file you just downloaded. The file is called Get64bitFlash-0.1.tar.gz.

Step 3
Double click on the extracted file called Get64bitFlash

Step 4
Select run in terminal

Step 5
Enter your user password in the terminal that has opened. If it does not ask for your password do not panic just skip this step

Step 6 When prompted type yes and hit enter

Step 7
When everything has finished running in the terminal you should close your terminal if it did not automaticly close.
Step 8
Close Firefox
Step 9
While this step is not necessary it is a good idea to avoid any problems.
Restart system.
Step 10
Enjoy a 64 bit version of Adobe flash player
